1. Describe your perfect “weather” day – rainy, sunny, cool enough to need a jacket? What’s your definition of the perfect day?

My perfect weather day is cloudy, warm enough, but not too windy. I partuculary enjoy the Typhoon coming days when I was in Taiwan, that means super windy( air quality gets quickly imporved, ) much cooler temperature (balanced out  the super hot and humid weather in Taiwan , )and of course, the oppetrunity to cancle school or work depends on situation and announced by government. Now I am in Wichita, I can appreciate any terrible weather as long as I don’t  need to go out(except hurricane).

2. Blast from the past – what memory comes to mind when you think about your elementary school days? (Sharon, elementary for US kids is grades 1-6.)

I need to take around 40 mins bus , public transportation to school when I was in my elementary school years.  Often so crowded , and always a risk to go beyond  and miss my stop if I accidently fall into sleep, or worry about being late, or harassment by random strangers. I remember there was  one time on half of my way home that the bus for some reason the driver did not explain  just unexpectedly get everybody out of bus and announced that it is not in service . I was only about Grade 3 and did not know what to do but cry. In the end I was lead to a police station by strangers and end up get a ride home in a police car. I can still remember my sisblings envy eyes even though it actually was a frightened experienced for me.

3. Speaking of school – what was your favorite high school subject?

English. It’s always my favorite. I “randomly” got reconnected with my classmate from junior high in Vancouvor SMT this year May 2019, and she told me something I totally forget. She said Sharon you always told others that “I need to study English very hard, because I will need it when I go oversea one day.” I did not know that why I have that kind of confidence or  assurance when I was that young , so it’s a great surprise to realize that God’s plan might be much bigger, much  earlier and totally beyond my imagination.

4. Name 2 or 3 of your current favorite Wichita restaurants.

I enjoy Dragen’S EXPRESS BBQ duck very much, great selections to take out, authentic Chinese restaurants in my opinion.  Korea cushion in Grace market is also a go-to, Georges French BISTRO was the place we celebrate the success house purchase.

5. What do you miss most about living in Taiwan?

Night markets, the vibe of energy. I enjoy  and feel blessed when surrounded by all kinds of fresh, hot , delicious yet creative and also cheap  food choices around me , even 7-11 provides all kinds of local options that can meet all my needs so  convieniently .

6. Share with us a verse or passage of Scripture that has meant a lot to you recently and tell us why.

Hebrews 4:11, NIV: "Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience."and Psalm 40:4 Blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, who has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood!

I am thinking the definition of “rest ”must not be the same as mine”rest”, and why it takes a lot  effort, need to be diligent or strive to enter into that. I wish I get to know the real difference and enjoy the rest that God provides me.

7. What can the Encouragement Team be praying for you this month?

Refer to Question 6. I am the kind of girl who does not have much sence of security and sometimes over sensitive, so I sometimes become easily distracted away from peace and rest in God by all kinds of negative thoughts or comments. Please pray for my standing firm and strong in truth and love of God, not be deceived by any kind of lies and grow strong sence of security in God and have the ability to filter away any kind of unhealthy thoughts or negative emotions , so that I can always get peace rest in God and nothing, no one can shaken me away from it.
